Introduction
The Alabama Phlebology Training Institute was founded by Drs John Kingsley and Jim Ingram in 2003. Since that time, more than 150 physicians and their associated nurses, sonographers, and other assistants both clinical and business have trained in Alabama. The Alabama Vascular and Vein Center in Birmingham is the site for the training program. At this site, physicians and staff in training observe and participate in a full time phlebology specialty practice. Approximately 50 endovenous laser ablation operations are performed each week, and numerous adjuvant procedures are performed simultaneously or at separate times. The training programs are designed to fit the needs of each physician seeking advanced knowledge in the field of phlebology.
